Washington County player quadruples prize with Megaplier feature
Adding the Megaplier option to his Mega Millions ticket and playing the same four numbers on three lines of his $9 ticket gave a Boonsboro man a $44,000 prize in the May 17 drawing.
The Washington County resident visited his local Lottery retailer, Martin’s #6104 located at 1729 Dual Highway in Hagerstown, to buy his lucky ticket. The winning numbers were 7, 21, 24, 41, 65 with a Mega Ball of 24.
He placed three bets on his ticket, matching four numbers – 7, 21, 24, and 65 – on all three wagers plus hit the Mega Ball on one of the three bets. The Megaplier of x4, which he added to the ticket for $1 extra per wager, quadrupled his prize. The 49-year-old winner’s final tally of prizes totaled $44,000!
The odds of winning with that combination on a $2 bet are 1 in 931,001.
