Bowie resident “Big J” was all smiles (behind the check) after he picked up the final FAST PLAY Home Run Riches Walk-Off Winnings progressive jackpot of $147,550.
A Bowie man hit a walk-off win as he picked up a $147,550 progressive jackpot on the FAST PLAY Home Run Riches Walk-Off Winnings game on Oct. 1.
The big winner, who is using the alias “Big J”, said he went to the store to purchase the FAST PLAY ticket along with his coffee. When he got home, he noticed the number 25 under “Winning Numbers” matched the 25 under “Your Numbers” with the progressive jackpot prize.
“I was shocked. It took me a few minutes to realize that I won. I had to drink more sips of my coffee,” he said with a smile.
The landscaper said he will place his prize in the bank and may later use it to purchase a vacation home.
While claiming the prize at Lottery headquarters on Oct. 3, “Big J” said he has felt lucky lately and had a feeling a big win was on its way. “I kept thinking I was going to hit the jackpot,” he added.
According to “Big J”, he likes to go hunting and crabbing. His win closes out the $5 game for the season.
“Big J” purchased the ticket at the 7-Eleven at 3570 Crain Highway in Bowie. The Prince George’s County retailer receives a bonus of $1,000 for selling the winning ticket.
