Cecil County Woman Claims $1 Million Top Prize on Lucky 777 Scratch-Off

A Cecil County woman made a visit to a local grocery store and left with a lot more than she anticipated. One could say that she left the grocery store with a lot of dough and a lot of greens. But more aptly, she came out of the store toting a $1 million winning Lucky 777 scratch-off.

The top-prize winning ticket was purchased at Acme Markets located at 101 Big Elk Mall in Elkton. Before she hit the aisles, she stopped at the Lottery vending machine to buy tickets, which she often does while grocery shopping. After buying her ticket, she took a moment to scratch it while still in the store. When she got to the very bottom row of the ticket, she revealed a black seven for a $1 million pay day.

“I kept calm and called my husband,” she said. The winner was sure to keep her cool as she didn’t want to draw any attention to herself.

The anonymous winner says that she plans to donate some of her winnings, travel and do some home improvements.

Acme Markets is a bit lucky themselves. They’ll collect a $1,000 bonus for selling the $1 million winning scratch-off.

The Lucky 777 game hit stores on May 19. It began with six $1 million and eight $50,000 prizes.  There are still four $1 million, six $50,000 and hundreds of thousands of prizes between $20 and $10,000 remaining.
