Multi-Match has been growing all summer because no one has hit the Maryland-only game’s jackpot since April, but that ended last night when a player in Prince George’s County’s ticket matched all six numbers to win $4.2 million.
The winning numbers for the Aug. 31 drawing are: 1, 4, 18, 35, 41 and 42. The valuable ticket was sold at the Town Center Market at 4705 Queensbury Road in Riverdale.
For selling the jackpot winner, the Prince George’s County retailer scores a nice end of summer bonus of $1,000.
The big winner has the option of either the $4.2 million annuity, paid in 25 equal annual installments, or an estimated $2.2 million one-time payment option (before taxes).
The Multi-Match jackpot was last hit April 16 when an Ellicott City dad won $570,000. This is biggest Multi-Match win since May 2022 when a Westminster man won $5.1 million.
In addition to the jackpot, 56,762 players across Maryland won prizes ranging from $2 to $1,000 by matching three or more numbers drawn, with 39 of those wins being worth $1,000 each.
The Multi-Match jackpot for the next drawing, on Thursday, has an annuity value of $500,000. Multi-Match tickets cost $2 per play, and each play includes three chances to win the top prize.
Lottery officials encourage the winner to sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe location. The player has 182 days after the date of the drawing to claim the prize.
Instructions for claiming prizes are available on the How to Claim page of the Lottery website. Prizes of more than $25,000 must be claimed through Lottery headquarters, either in person or by mail.
