A Montgomery County woman went to the store for coffee, but it wasn’t the caffeine that gave her a boost. She heeded the suggestion of her son to try FAST PLAY instead of her usual Pick 3 and Pick 4. The result: a progressive jackpot jolt of $57,486 on the game 7-11-21.
The winner bought her joe and winning tickets from the Safeway grocery store at 15411 New Hampshire Avenue in Silver Spring. She went to the Lottery vending machine and purchased $10 worth of FAST PLAY tickets, one of which was the $2 7-11-22 progressive jackpot winner. All the three numbers on game 7 of her ticket totaled 21, giving her the win.
The player asked her son scan the ticket for her, and, at first, he thought he got an error message. When he scanned it again, he noticed the message said “take to lottery.”
The Montgomery County woman was very excited for her win, though she hasn’t made any plans for her winnings as of when she claimed on Nov. 25 at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. In addition to enjoying retirement, she also enjoys spending time outdoors gardening.
Safeway in Silver Springs receives a $574 bonus as the retailer that sold a progressive jackpot winning FAST PLAY ticket.
