College Park Man Wins $100,000 Prize on $1,000,000 Crossword Scratch-Off

Sandy Reyes Soto, of College Park, is all smiles after winning $100,000 prize on the $1,000,000 Crossword scratch-off.

College Park resident Sandy Reyes-Soto just took home a payday of a lifetime. He purchased three $1,000,000 Crossword scratch-off tickets for $25 each and one of them was a second-tier winner for $100,000.

Sandy visited the Giant supermarket at 46 Bureau Drive in Gaithersburg where he selected the game on a whim. He identified nine words in the game’s third puzzle for the win: kin, chip, pie, niece, ham, iodine, urn, inch and node.

The winner plans to use his winnings to buy a new car, which would work out perfect for him as he works as a delivery driver, he said Sept. 1 when he claimed the windfall at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
