Crofton resident Charlese Smith won a $62,502.03 Rolling Cash Jackpot with the MONOPOLY™ second-chance promotion!
Claims second Rolling Cash Jackpot prize in Maryland Lottery contest
An Anne Arundel County woman was surprised to discover she was the next big winner in the Maryland Lottery’s MONOPOLY™ second-chance promotion. Charlese Smith of Crofton won her $62,502.03 prize just last week. The prize, drawn from a series of Lottery players’ second-chance entries, was the second of six Rolling Cash Jackpots being awarded during the MONOPOLY second-chance promotion.
The 40-year-old winner said she entered just a few of her non-winning MONOPOLY scratch-offs into her My Lottery Rewards account since the promotion began in January. One of those eligible entries was selected on March 22 to win the Rolling Cash Jackpot. Ten other Lottery players were selected as $2,500 winners.
“I had registered a few tickets earlier and forgot about the contest until the Lottery called me,” Charlese said.
The lucky lady was on her lunch break when she received the call from Lottery officials with news that she won big. Her largest previous Lottery prize – just $100.
“I think I was crying for the next two days. Things like this don’t happen to me,” she explained.
Charlese, who works in the financial services sector, said that the $62,502.03 prize will help her with her next big investment – home ownership. Her family is in the home-buying process and believes the prize will help them with down-payment costs.
Players can enter any non-winning MONOPOLY scratch-off or winning and non-winning FAST PLAY MONOPOLY tickets into My Lottery Rewards for a chance to win cash prizes. Six drawings will take place, with each drawing awarding one “Rolling Cash Jackpot” and ten $2,500 prizes. A “Rolling Cash Jackpot” is a prize that starts at $2,500 at the beginning of each promotion period, and incrementally increases until that drawing.
