Derwood Man’s Pick 5 Numbers Pop up for $25,000 Win

Montgomery County resident takes home prize on 50-cent straight bet

The Maryland Lottery’s new Pick 5 game just gave another lucky player a big prize. The game, which started Feb. 7, popped up five numbers to match those played by an ecstatic Derwood man for a $25,000 win.

The 78-year-old placed a 50-cent straight bet for the Feb. 24 evening drawing using the numbers 6, 8, 8, 1 and 7. He won big when his numbers came out in that exact order. The Montgomery County resident bought his lucky ticket at College Plaza Exxon located at 15211 Frederick Road in Rockville. The Montgomery County Lottery retailer earns a bonus of $250 from the Lottery for selling the lucky $25,000-winning ticket.

Since the game began, players have won 38 $25,000 prizes on 50-cent straight bets and 13 $50,000 prizes on $1 straight bets.
