Having a dream about winning the Lottery is pretty common. Occasionally people remember the winning numbers from those dreams and play those numbers. And every once in a while, someone wins big on numbers from a dream.
That’s exactly what happened to a man from Gaithersburg who won $50,500 playing Powerball with the Double Play option on Sept. 14.
He played two sets of numbers for the drawing, adding the $1 Double Play option to be included in a second drawing for a possible top prize of $10 million. While he didn’t win on the regular Powerball drawing, he had much better luck with the Double Play drawing. In addition to matching four of the first five numbers drawn, he matched the red Powerball number for a $50,000 third-tier win. In addition, his second line of numbers matched three of the first five balls plus the Powerball number, adding $500 to his winnings.
The winning ticket was purchased at Lakeside Beer and Wine at 6721 Lost Knife Road in Gaithersburg.
