Linthicum Woman Wins $540,000 Jackpot Prize on Multi-Match Quick Pick

A Multi-Match jackpot winner was so overwhelmed with joy that calls herself “Euphoria.”

An Anne Arundel County woman is so elated about her big Lottery win that she has taken the nickname “Euphoria.” After finding herself in Towson, a place she rarely visits, she took it as a sign to try her luck playing Multi-Match. With $6 in cash in her pocket, she pulled out $2 and bought a single-draw quick pick ticket ended up being a $540,000 jackpot winner.

Returning from an event in Baltimore County, she decided to make a stop at the Shell gas station at 935 York Road in Towson. With no intention of getting gas, “Euphoria” went inside the store and went right to the Lottery machine. Before making her final quick pick selection, she shuffled through a few combinations until she saw a set of numbers that she liked.

It wasn’t until the following day when she checked her ticket using the app on her phone that she found out she had won. And won big.

“Euphoria” initially thought she had a $100,000 winner. She shared that news with her daughters and they screamed with excitement.

But later she realized a jackpot winner for more than five times that amount had been sold where she bought her ticket. That’s when it dawned on her she was an even bigger winner. She described the sensation as “pure euphoria.” Her husband and three daughters were still thinking she had won a $100,000 prize, even as she was claiming on October 2 at Lottery headquarters.

The winner says she’s grateful for her good fortune and she’s going to use her winnings for some home improvements, a new car for a daughter and paying the tuition for her three children currently in college.

“Euphoria” has worked as a data analyst for over 20 years. When she’s not working, she enjoys spending time with family, going on hikes and doing other outdoors activities.

Towson Shell gas station will receive a $1,000 bonus as the retailer that sold a jackpot winning Multi-Match ticket.
