Glen Burnie man claims top prize on $100,000 Extreme Cash game
A 66-year-old Lottery fan is thanking his lucky stars that a self-serve vending machine at one Lottery retailer was being serviced when he arrived to purchase scratch-offs. Unwilling to wait, he went to a nearby 7-Eleven to make his purchases and ultimately won $100,000 in the $100,000 Extreme Cash game.
The Glen Burnie resident’s journey to a top-prize scratch-off win came when he was on a break from work. The loyal player went to a Royal Farms store to cash in a $100 winning scratch-off and purchase more games. He cashed in his instant ticket, but when he went to buy more, he saw that a clerk was loading new games into the Lottery vending machine. The player didn’t have time to wait, so he zipped over to 7-Eleven #32909 in Glen Burnie to buy his games and found Lottery luck.
“I bought two $30 games and two $20 games and played them in the parking lot,” said the big winner. “When I saw the $100,000 win on the very first ticket I scratched, I just sat there in shock.”
After sitting for a moment, the father and grandfather went back into the 7-Eleven and had the cashier confirm the win. Excited, he called his family and texted them a picture of the winning $100,000 Extreme Cash scratch-off so they would believe him. He then went back to work.
The big winner told Lottery officials that he plans to use his prize to pay bills and will save the rest of the windfall.
His lucky retailer is located at 6930 Aviation Boulevard in Glen Burnie. For selling a $100,000 top-prize winning scratch-off, the 7-Eleven store’s management will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery.
The popular $30 $100,000 Extreme Cash game has been available to players since September 2020 and still has six $100,000 top prizes remaining. Also waiting to be found are two $5,000 prizes and more than 32,000 others ranging from $30 to $500.
