Eastern Shore Boating Enthusiast Reels in a $50,000 Powerball Prize

Congratulations to this $50,000 Powerball winner. Playing his personal set of numbers led to a third-tier prize.

Claims windfall won in March 7 drawing

“Zach” of Worcester County plays Maryland Lottery games regularly, particularly Powerball. After 12 months of placing bets using the same sets of numbers, the boating enthusiast brought in a brag-worthy $50,000 catch.

Lucky “Zach” took his quest for a big win to 7-Eleven #19283 located at 11055 Racetrack Road in Berlin. He bought a $10 ticket for the March 7 drawing and went on his way. It wasn’t until later in the week, while at another Lottery retailer, that he learned of his $50,000 prize. The 75-year-old was with his adult children and grandchildren at a grocery store when he checked the ticket using a Lottery ticket scanner. “I had to check my ticket three to four times,” said “Zach.” He immediately shared the great news with his family.

When asked of his plans for his prize, “Zach” said that he needs a new porch and screen doors for his house. Now, he can get the home improvements that were on his to-do list. When “Zach” isn’t playing Lottery games, he enjoys taking his boat out on the water and exploring Eastern Shore inlets and waterways.
