Eastern Shore Granddad Enjoys String of Lottery Luck

Three Lottery prizes in a row made a happy camper of Lawrence Bartos of Talbot County.

Winner claims $25,060 prize on Keno Super Bonus ticket

His Lottery winning streak began when his grandchildren from Texas came to visit, said Lawrence Bartos of Talbot County. He and his family took a trip to the local store and, while there, kicked off his string of lucky wins with the purchase of a $1,000-winning instant ticket.

A few days later, while at a casino, Lawrence played Keno using his grandchildren’s birth dates resulting in a $20,035 win. Next, within five days, he arrived at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore to claim another $25,060 Keno prize.

The 52-year-old winner found his latest windfall on a ticket purchased at Graul’s Market in St. Michaels. The Eastern Shore resident purchased a six-spot ticket with the added Super Bonus for 20 draws. “I couldn’t believe it,” Lawrence said after winning again.

Lucky Lawrence moved to Maryland from Ohio in 2014 and became a retired military veteran in 2015. He is especially excited about his plans for this prize, which involves buying a pop-up camper for his children and grandchildren.

His lucky Lottery retailer, Graul’s Market, will receive a $250 bonus for its role in selling a winning Keno ticket worth $25,060. The Talbot County grocery is located at 1212 South Talbot Street in St. Michaels.
