Eastern Shore Man’s Dream of Big Lottery Win Comes True

$10 Ultimate Cash scratch-off delivers $50,000 prize

A 38-year-old Worcester County man has fulfilled his dream of winning the Lottery. A few weeks ago, he purchased just one Ultimate Cash scratch-off and won a $50,000 second-tier prize.

The married father of three had stopped at NASR’s Exxon, which is located at 104 Pine Street in Hurlock, to buy snacks when the Lottery scratch-off display caught his attention. A fan of $10 games, the big winner chose the blue Ultimate Cash instant ticket and played it at home while watching television.

“When I saw the ‘treasure chest’ symbol, I knew I won,” said the lucky player. “My dream of winning finally came true.”

And, win he did! According to the game’s rules, if a player reveals the “treasure chest” symbol, they win all of the prizes automatically and the Eastern Shore man’s prizes added up to $50,000. Although very happy, the winner kept his calm after his discovery and did not share the news with his family until that evening.

“I was so excited,” said the winner’s wife, who accompanied him to claim the prize. “I almost knocked him over with the hug I gave him.”

The restaurant cook says he will enjoy his newfound fortune. He plans to purchase a new car and spend the rest on his family.

The Ultimate Cash game, which went on sale in June, has a top prize of $100,000. There are seven remaining, along with five more $50,000 prizes, 34 $10,000 prizes and many more ranging from $10 to $1,000.
