Each year, a Wicomico County woman enjoys purchasing scratch-offs to give to some adults on her Christmas list. This year, on Christmas Eve, she was buying those gifts when she decided to treat herself the $30 scratch-off game 200X The Cash.
When she got home and scratched ticket, she couldn’t believe her eyes.
“I said, ‘No way, no way!’” the scratch-off fan said Dec. 31 after claiming her prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. “I took out my phone and scanned the ticket with the app. When I saw it was real, I just started shaking. I was in total shock.”
The nurse then took the ticket to her parents’ home to lock in their safe until she was able to make arrangements to claim the prize on New Year’s Eve.
With the win, the mother of two plans to pay off her mortgage and save for her kids’ future.
The happy winner isn’t the only one celebrating. The Exxon station at 8600 Ocean Highway in Delmar will receive a $2,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
The 200X The Cash ticket was released Dec. 5 with five $2 million top prizes. This win leaves four top prizes unclaimed. In addition, there are six $50,000 second-tier prizes up for grabs and hundreds of thousands of prizes from $30 to $10,000.
