Eastern Shore Resident Scores 30,000 Red Hot Cash Scratch-off Prize

Claims top prize in new $3 game

A Caroline County man quietly claimed the second $30,000 top prize in the new Red Hot Cash scratch-off on Monday, making the long drive across the state to Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.

The big winner, who resides in a small town on the Eastern Shore, chose to remain anonymous. He bought the $3 game at Denton Liquors located at 38 Denton Plaza in Denton. The lucky retailer will receive a $300 bonus from the Lottery for selling a top-prize winning scratch-off.

The Red Hot Cash instant ticket joins a Hot family of games that went on sale May 22. Other members of the family are the $1 Hot 7s, $2 Hot 7s Doubler, $5 Hot 7s Tripler and $10 Hot 7s Multiplier scratch-offs. A $20 Hot 777 ticket went on sale in April. In addition to the top prize, Red Hot Cash has more than 806,000 prizes ranging from $3 to $1,000.
