A Maryland Lottery player from Easton plans on doing some investing after taking a chance on the $20 scratch-off game $50,000 Cash and winning the 101st top prize to be claimed on the ticket.
A regular when it comes to playing the Lottery, the mood struck him recently, so he walked into the Sunoco gas station at 8359 Ocean Gateway in Easton and bought a ticket, he reported Aug. 14 after claiming the prize a Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.
The Sunoco receives a bonus of $500, equal to 1% of the prize amount.
On sale since December 2022, the $50,000 Cash game started with 160 top prizes of $50,000, and the one claimed Aug. 14 leaves 59 of those unclaimed, along with tens of thousands of other prizes ranging from $20 to $5,000.
