Family Birth Dates Lead to Baltimore Woman’s Big Racetrax Win

She never had a favorite game, a long-time Lottery player said when claiming a $108,470 prize Oct. 23 at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.

That, however, has changed. Racetrax is at the top of her list and second place is at least a furlong behind.

“I decide at the last minute,” the Baltimore woman said when asked why she played Racetrax on Oct. 12. “I’ve been buying tickets forever and that’s the way I’ve always done it.”

The city resident chose the numbers on her Racetrax ticket after dreaming about individual family members for several nights in a row.

“This has happened before, and when I use the birth days, months and years for my lottery numbers, it worked. So, when I decided to play Racetrax, I tried it again,” she said.

She stopped at a 7-Eleven store to purchase a $20 superfecta ticket for 20 races playing the 4,8,12 and 10 horses to finish in exact order and then moved on to other concerns. It wasn’t until the next day that her daughter, who knew about the dreams and her mom’s Racetrax wager, recognized the winning numbers.

“When she told me and we checked my ticket together, it was such a surprise. And such a relief,” the winner said.

A laundry attendant, the winner said her $108,470 prize will be shared with her family.

This Racetrax gives a lift to the 7-Eleven store at 7311 Washington Boulevard in Elkridge, as well. The Howard County business receives a $1,084.70 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
