Dundalk’s Jason Nixon, pictured with his wife Elaine, has been all smiles since a FAST PLAY Big Win ticket delivered his $50,000 surprise.
When it comes to lottery games, Jason Nixon likes to know the results right away, which is why scratch-off tickets and FAST PLAY games are his favorites. If he enjoyed both equally in the past, odds are that FAST PLAY has now pulled well ahead thanks to a recent $50,000 win.
As the truck driver walked into a 7-Eleven that was on his delivery route late last month, he told officials, “I was in the mood for a Lottery ticket and had a $10 bill set aside.” He saw the store’s vending machine right away and the first ticket he noticed as he approached was the $10 FAST PLAY Big Win game. “So, that was the one.”
When we asked Jason about his reaction after discovering his $50,000 win, he couldn’t quite recall whether it was shock or denial that hit him first. “It was crazy. I went over it a bunch of times and it was a $50,000 match every time.”
As excited as he was, the Baltimore County man still wanted to make sure it was a winning ticket. “I stopped at two other Lottery stores on the way to my next stop to scan the ticket again.” By then, Jason told us, he knew the Big Win ticket was the real thing, but he needed to make sure.
“I looked at myself in the rearview mirror. Even with that doubt in my mind, I couldn’t get the smile off my face.”
The FAST PLAY Big Win game still has 20 top prizes of $100,000 and 16 $50,000 prizes in circulation.
The 7-Eleven at 162 Ritchie Highway in Severna Park is Jason’s lucky Lottery retailer. The Anne Arundel County business is sure to become a frequent stop in the future as he drives his route.
