The $1.765 billion Powerball jackpot was finally caught by a player in California while four Maryland players scored $50,000 third-tier prizes. Our lucky tickets were sold in the counties of Baltimore, Harford, Howard and Washington.

Check your Powerball tickets carefully if you bought one from any of these locations:

The winning numbers in the Oct. 11 Powerball drawing were 22, 24, 40, 52 and 64; the Powerball was 10. The drawing on Wednesday produced more than 5.3 million winning tickets nationwide and 108,998 in Maryland.

This was the second largest jackpot in Powerball history and the second largest jackpot in U.S. history. In addition, this was the first time that two consecutive jackpot cycles produced billion-dollar grand prizes.

During the current jackpot roll, Maryland sold two second-tier winning tickets and 27 third-tier winners (including two Double Play tickets) with prizes ranging from $50,000 to $150,000. There are two unclaimed $1 million second-tier prizes won during the jackpot roll. The first ticket was bought in Snow Hill at Duck In II Convenience for the Sept. 27 drawing and the second at Golden Ring Liquors in Rosedale for the Sept. 30 drawing.

Lottery officials encourage all winners to sign the back of their tickets immediately and put them in a safe location. They get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim their prizes. Instructions on claiming prizes in person or by mail are available HERE. Players must redeem prizes larger than $25,000 by mail or at Lottery headquarters in the Montgomery Park Business Center, 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 330 in Baltimore.
