Gaithersburg man lands top prize on Bonus Bingo X20 game
A Montgomery County scratch-off player hadn’t had much luck with a batch of instant tickets he had purchased, but a friend suggested that he switch scratch-off games and try the Bonus Bingo X20 ticket.
The Gaithersburg resident, who was seeking a big win while at Sagar Beer & Wine in Gaithersburg, bought just one of the suggested $20 games, but it turned out his friend had the right idea. To his shock, he revealed a $500,000 top prize on that lucky ticket. “It was a big surprise,” he recalled.
The happy winner plans to put his lucky windfall into the bank and may take a vacation with some of the funds in the future.
His Montgomery County Lottery retailer also benefits from his good fortune. For selling a $500,000 top-prize winning scratch-off, Sagar Beer & Wine located at 615 South Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg earns a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery.
This game went on sale in August 2020, starting with eight $500,000 top prizes. After the Gaithersburg resident’s win, there are still three more unclaimed $500,000 prizes along with two unclaimed $50,000 prizes and 49 remaining $10,000 prizes.
