Though she works for a company that paints houses, a Gaithersburg resident who visited lottery headquarters on Sept. 24, said she plays no role in the color paint that is to be used for each project. Thanks to a FAST PLAY 20X Cash progressive jackpot ticket she purchased a few weeks ago, this will likely change.
“I buy FAST PLAY tickets whenever I play,” the Montgomery County woman said after claiming her prize. “And I always look for games I haven’t played before. New equals lucky to me.”
It was this belief that compelled her to buy the 20X Cash ticket that brought her to Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. The $20 game debuted less than a week before and her $311,795 progressive jackpot win was the first top-tier win on the game.
The winner purchased the ticket at the Giant grocery store at 46 Bureau Drive in Gaithersburg. For selling the jackpot winner, the Gaithersburg business receives a $1,000 bonus.
There are 19 more progressive jackpot prizes waiting for 20X Cash players, as well as 32 wins at the $10,000 level. As of this posting, the game’s progressive jackpot is well over $333,000, after having reset at $300,000 after the Gaithersburg player’s win. The progressive jackpot increases a each time a non-jackpot winning ticket is sold.
The administrative assistant says she started dancing when she realized how much she’d won.
“I have a house fund that I’ve been adding to over the last few years, usually just $10 or so each week. Every bit of this win is going in. It really speeds up my plans.”
When the big purchase finally happens, the winner will know who to call if the house needs repainting. And for once, she’ll be the one selecting the color.
