Money Rush scratch-off stuns Baltimore delivery driver
A Baltimore woman explained to Lottery officials that her mother is not just the luckiest person she has ever met, but the luckiest she’s ever heard of. Games, contests or raffles, she’s won them all – and now she can add the Lottery to that list. A $50,000 win playing a Money Rush scratch-off last week is her latest triumph.
It was just a few years ago that the pair decided to put her gift to the test by playing the Lottery. They go to the store together when they play, but then Mom takes over. “She always picks the tickets,” the employee of a delivery service told us. While they have enjoyed many wins since then, they’ve established an important rule for their lottery play – don’t go to the well too often.
You might think that with her mother’s winning track record, the two would be buying tickets every day, but you’d be wrong. “We don’t push our luck. We only play once or twice a month, only when Mom tells me it feels right.”
Last Friday was one of those times, so the mother-daughter team visited Sam’s Lobby Shop in Baltimore. “She called me that morning and asked if I wanted to get a few tickets. I knew what that meant so I picked her up after work. I drove, she picked out the tickets.” Among them was Money Rush, a $10 game with a $100,000 top prize.
Our happy delivery driver did the scratching on the ticket, and at first wasn’t sure what she was seeing. “It looked like a big winner, but even with our luck, a win this big seemed crazy.” Mom gave the ticket a look and smiled. “She looked at me and said, ‘We just won $50,000.’”
Money Rush debuted in July with nine $100,000 top prizes and eleven $50,000 second-tier prizes. Six of each remain available along with more than half a million other prizes ranging from $10 to $10,000.
Sam’s Lobby Shop, our winner’s lucky Lottery retailer, can be found at 10 N. Calvert Street in Baltimore City.
