Winning ticket told at Elliott City Giant
Our latest $50,000 top-prize winner in the $50,000 Cash scratch-off game hails from Ellicott City. The lucky player was home with his wife and daughter when he revealed his big win on the $20 instant ticket.
“I scratched it and saw it was a winner. It was an awesome feeling,” said the lucky player.
The Howard County man, who owns a restaurant, said he plans to use the prize to pay off bills. He will also save some of the winnings for a vacation with his family.
The happy player purchased the lucky scratch-off at Giant #143, which is located at 4715 Dorsey Hall Drive in Ellicott City. For selling a $50,000 top-prize winning instant ticket, the Howard County retailer will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery. “I play a couple of times a week. I don’t go out of my way to buy a ticket, but if I am at the grocery store or liquor store, I will pick one up,” he explained. “I just play for fun.”
He is the sixth top-prize winner since the game went on sale on Dec. 29, 2022 and there are more than 150 $50,000 prizes remaining. There are also more than $1 million unclaimed prizes ranging of $20 to $5,000.
