Hyattsville Resident Scores $62,576 Prize on Racetrax Superfecta Box Wager

Lucky drawing on high-odds horses brings big win

An anonymous Racetrax player from Hyattsville found herself in the Maryland Lottery Winner’s Circle this week after her four horses crossed the finish line together.

The player won $62,576 with a Superfecta Box bet on the 9, 10, 11 and 12 horses. For the Superfecta Box bet, players select four horses to place 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th in any order. The 58-year-old bought her $2.40 one-draw ticket on July 9 at the Sunoco station in Landover. The probability of winning with those numbers was 1 in 902853.02. In her race, the horses won in the order of 12, 9, 10 and 11.

Her lucky retailer also benefits from the sale of a winning Racetrax ticket of $10,000 or more. The Lottery will give the Prince George’s County business, which is located at 7530 Martin Luther King Highway, a bonus of $625.76. The bonus is equal to 1% of the prize.
