Kingsville Couple Plan to Celebrate $50,000 Lottery Win with an Italian Cold Cut Sub

When a husband-and-wife duo claimed a $50,000 Gold Bar Bingo $50,000 top prize, the wife told Lottery officials that she bought the ticket but had asked her husband to claim the prize.

“What’s mine is his and what’s his is mine,” she said Oct. 19 when the Kingsville pair visited Lottery headquarters.

Married for more than four decades, the couple anticipates no changes in their lifestyle resulting from the win, nor do they plan so much as a celebratory dinner.

“We’re going to get an Italian cold cut sub and go on with life as it was,” the husband said, quickly adding that life is good, with or without the prize money (all of which is going right in the bank).

“We are very appreciative,” the wife added, having described the big win as “a miracle.”

Her previous biggest win was about $2,000 several years ago.

The winning ticket was purchased at the Shell gas station at 9005 Belair Road in Nottingham. The Baltimore County retailer will receive a $500 bonus for selling the ticket.

The win came on the Gold Bar Bingo 7th Edition game, a $5 ticket that first went on sale in July with seven top prizes of $50,000. The Kingsville couple’s prize is the second to be claimed, leaving another five in play.

In addition, the game has six remaining prizes of $10,000, along with tens of thousands more ranging from $5 to $5,000.
