A Bel Air woman has been playing the Maryland Lottery for years, as she puts it, “hoping like everyone else to win,” and win is exactly what she did when she bought a $3 Diamond Bingo scratch-off. The ticket turned out to be a $30,000 winner.
She’s always happy to win a few dollars here and there, so winning big was a special thrill. She bought that specific ticket because she enjoys bingo almost as much as playing the Lottery.
Aside from taking her daughter, who drove her to Lottery headquarters to claim on July 8, to dinner, the winner has no immediate plans for her winnings.
She bought the ticket at Cheers Wine & Spirits at 100 North Tollgate Road in Bel Air. The lucky retailer will receive a $300 bonus.
