When Douglas Godesky told his wife he won a Maryland Lottery second-chance prize that included a shopping spree at the Ravens new Flock Shop, it didn’t take long for her to suggest they use it as an opportunity to make a donation to Kennedy Krieger Institute.

Douglas was one of four winners selected through the Ravens Second-Chance Promotion to win 2025 season tickets, a parking pass for every Ravens home game and a $500 shopping spree at the Ravens official team store at M&T Bank Stadium.

“My wife was a special education teacher in Baltimore, so she suggested we pay it forward and find a local program connected to the Ravens,” Douglas, a former Maryland resident who now lives in New Hampshire, said on Oct. 23 during the shopping spree.

Douglas and the Lottery connected with Kennedy Krieger representatives, who found the perfect recipient — 36-year-old Dundalk resident Kevin DiLegge. His mother Mary said he has a “Ravens Lunatic” sign at the house, showcasing his devotion to the team. In addition to Mary, Kevin’s brother Andrew accompanied them on the shopping spree.

While at the store, Kevin picked out quite a few items including a custom Tyler Loop jersey, a letterman jacket and a stuffed Poe mascot. Kevin started out as a patient at Kennedy Krieger when he was just a year old, so the organization has a special place in his and his family’s hearts.

“We want to thank the Maryland Lottery, the Baltimore Ravens and the generous donor who brought this fan experience to our patient, Kevin, and his mother, Mary,” said Sarah Ryan, assistant vice president of engagement at Kennedy Krieger Institute. “The family was stunned at first by this gift, but then Mary said, ‘Kevin brings us to see that there are so many good people in the world.’ We could not agree more, and we could not be more grateful to share a community with these kind donors.”

By the end of the day, there weren’t many dry eyes in the store. Kevin was very appreciative, and kept thanking everyone involved.

This is the 17th year in a row that the Maryland Lottery has teamed up with the Baltimore Ravens to produce Ravens-themed scratch-offs and second-chance promotions.

The three additional winners of 2025 season tickets and $500 shopping spree were Kandis Davis from Upper Marlboro, Brandon Mazzaferro from Essex and Lester Thomas from Middle River. They will take part in their shopping spree on Tuesday, Oct. 28.
