Lucky Hyattsville Man Collects Second Large Prize in Weeks

Claims $100,000 top prize on $100,000 Crossword scratch-off

Good fortune keeps coming to a Prince George’s County resident who just collected his second big Lottery prize this year. In fact, it was just a few weeks ago that he won $10,000 on a scratch-off. This week, he stopped at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore to claim a $100,000 top prize on a $100,000 Crossword 6th edition instant ticket.

The 40-year-old found the winning scratch-off at Langley Park Exxon located at 1348 University Boulevard in Hyattsville near his home. He occasionally plays other Lottery games, such as Mega Millions, but on this visit he selected the $10 $100,000 Crossword game.

The Hyattsville dad learned of his lucky fate when he went back to the store and scanned the instant ticket to check for a prize. “I was surprised,” the winner said. The married father of three then called his family to share the great news.

Our winner, who has worked as a home improvement contractor for the past 12 years, said he has no current plans for his prize. There are still another six unclaimed $100,000 prizes awaiting discovery in this game along with nine $10,000 prizes. This sixth edition of the popular game went on sale in August.

Our winner’s lucky retailer, Langley Park Exxon in Prince George’s County, will receive a $1,000 bonus from the Lottery for its role in selling a $100,000 top-prize winning scratch-off.
