Mega Millions Ticket Sold in Rosedale Worth $40,000 After Aug. 12 Draw

A Mega Millions player in Rosedale has a ticket worth $40,000 after matching four of the first five numbers drawn plus the Mega Ball in the Aug. 12 drawing.

No one matched all five numbers plus the Mega Ball, so the multi-state game’s estimated annuity jackpot increased to $198 million, with an estimated cash option of $89.3 million. The next drawing is Aug. 15.

The winning ticket was purchased Aug. 12, the day of the drawing, at the Royal Farms store at 8803 Philadelphia Road in Rosedale. The $5 ticket’s randomly selected multiplier was X4, which increased the base prize of $10,000 to $40,000.

The win is the 18th Mega Millions third-tier prize won in Maryland so far in 2025. Winners have claimed all 17 of the previous prizes.

Winners are encouraged to sign the backs of tickets and keep winning tickets in a safe location. Tickets for draw games expire 182 days after the drawing. The last date to claim scratch-offs is listed for each game on the scratch-off page.

Instructions for claiming prizes are available on the How to Claim page of the Lottery website. Prizes of more than $25,000 must be claimed through Lottery headquarters, either in person or by mail. Lottery headquarters is in the Montgomery Park Business Center, 1800 Washington Blvd., Suite 330, in Baltimore. An appointment is required to claim in person (no walk-ins).
