Mom’s Lottery Ticket Gift Puts $100,000 in Daughter’s Pocket

A Prince George’s County woman received a scratch-off as a gift from her mother, a regular Maryland Lottery player, and the gift turned out to be worth $100,000.

The mom gave each of her five adult children a $10 Ice scratch-off, which has a top prize of $100,000, and now the winning daughter has an argument for claiming to be her mom’s favorite child.

The $10 tickets, including the winner, were purchased at the Camp Meade Shell station at 463 North Camp Meade Road in Linthicum. The gift recipient was at home when she decided to scratch her ticket. While scratching, she spotted a matching number 14 with the corresponding $100,000 prize.

Not believing her eyes, she used the Maryland Lottery app on her phone to scan the ticket and confirm the big win.

The winner says she plans to use her winnings to buy a new home. Her favorite pastime is enjoying special meals, especially soul food and Italian.

Camp Meade Shell receives a bonus of $1,000 as the retailer that sold a $100,000 top-prize-winning scratch-off.

The Ice scratch-off was launched in April 2025. After this win, there are still three $100,000 top prizes remaining in circulation, along with many lower tier prizes.
