Montgomery County Construction Worker $50,000 Richer

Claims prize on quick-pick Powerball ticket

A lucky Rockville resident left the Maryland Lottery Winner’s Circle a very happy man after claiming his biggest prize ever. A frequent player with a history of small wins, he was over the moon with his whopping $50,000 Powerball windfall.

The 42-year-old bought a $2 quick-pick ticket for the Saturday, July 9 drawing from Family Market located at 420 Lincoln Street in Rockville. He matched four white balls and the Powerball to win the third-tier prize.

“I was very happy and excited,” the lucky winner said. The construction employee doesn’t currently have any plans for his prize but has shared the great news with his immediate family members.

The Powerball jackpot has continued to roll and is set for an estimated $101 million for the Wednesday, July 20 drawing. The estimated cash option is $58.7 million.
