The latest Marylander to win a FAST PLAY progressive jackpot told officials that he sees playing Lottery games after work as a means of stress relief. If so, the Big Money Doubler ticket he bought last weekend relieved $128,772 worth of pressure from his life.
The Rockville resident, a federal employee, told us that the responsibilities of his position put a bit of strain on him and that a few Lottery games on the way home – win or lose – help him relax. “I guess it’s like a hobby for me.”
Our winner purchased tickets Oct. 12 from the Lottery vending machine at Aspen Shell in Rockville when he realized that he had a few dollars left. “I usually get a voucher and cash it in at the counter when I have change coming, but something told me to get two more tickets instead.”
He chose two $5 scratch-offs and a Big Money Doubler ticket. Moments later he found no luck with the scratch-offs but lots and lots of it with his FAST PLAY selection.
“When I saw the jackpot match, I couldn’t believe my eyes. I caught my breath a few seconds later, but then I saw what the jackpot was and lost it all over again.”
The lucky Rockville man said his $128,772 prize will cover some repairs he’s had to make to his home. “To know that I can now handle this unexpected expense is such a relief.” The Lottery sent a $1,000 bonus to Aspen Shell for selling the progressive jackpot winner. The Montgomery County business is at 4101 Aspen Hill Road in Rockville.
