Wins $50,000 top prize playing Pick 5
A dream turned into reality for a Gaithersburg Lottery player who took home a $50,000 Pick 5 top prize using numbers he saw in a dream.
“I’ve had three super-vivid dreams in my life, and they all came true. That’s how I knew this would happen,” the lucky custodian told Lottery officials while claiming the prize on April 28. “And the most recent one – just about a year ago – was about five specific numbers and money.”
Assuming the dream was pointing him toward the Lottery, he played those five numbers whenever he played Pick 5. The Evening Pick 5 drawing on April 24 produced those numbers, in exact order. The happy winner said he checked the numbers on the Lottery app.
“It was so exciting,” he said. “I look at the results every night expecting to see my numbers and finally they were there.”
Also excited about the win are the owners of My Dollar & More at 250 North Frederick Avenue in Gaithersburg. The Montgomery County business earned a $500 bonus for selling the Pick 5 top-prize ticket.
