Numbers from Beyond Give Baltimore County Racetrax Fan a $51,864 Win

“Stettar Horseshoe” from Baltimore County claims a $51,864 Racetrax prize after using numbers she says were imparted to her by a friend from the beyond.

A Baltimore County Racetrax fan galloped into the Maryland Lottery winners’ circle March 9 with a $51,864-winning ticket from a race she played Feb. 7 while out shopping with her daughter.

While out and about, the two stopped at the Rosedale Shell station at 7514 Pulaski Highway with the intention of playing a favorite game, Pick 4. The winner, going by the alias “Settar Horseshoe,” says a friend from beyond gave her the winning Racetrax numbers, and she played that game as well.

“I have a friend who recently passed and I asked him for the numbers,” she said. “The numbers 6,7,9 and 11 came to mind, and that’s what I played.”

She played a 50 cent superfecta box bet for 10 races. Since the bet configuration is a wager that each of the selected horses will finish in each of the first four spots, for a total of 24 possible combinations, the total cost for a single race was $12, and her ticket purchase came to $120.

After placing the bet, “Settar Horseshoe” and her daughter finished their errands and checked the ticket later that evening at home. She was shocked by the results.

“I checked the numbers using the Maryland Lottery app and when I saw numbers in one of the races, I thought, ‘There’s no way I have this’,” she said. But she did.

The stunned player showed her husband, who was equally excited, but not surprised.

“She’s lucky that way,” he said when he accompanied the winner to claim at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore. “I’m used to it. She wins a lot.”

He went on to relate how “Settar Horseshoe” recently won a significant amount playing Pick 4. The couple plan to use some of the winnings to take a vacation and they’ll save the balance.

Also celebrating the win is Rosedale Shell, which receives a bonus of $518.64, equal to 1% of the prize total.
