Medical worker wins third top prize on nightly game over a 20-year period
The third time was truly a charm for an Owings Mills woman who won her third top prize on Bonus Match 5 over the last two decades. She already has plans for the $50,000 prize.
“I am going to pay bills and use the rest to have some fun,” the medical worker said.
While some Maryland Lottery players like to buy tickets for a variety of games, this third-time winner said she exclusively plays Bonus Match 5. She checks the winning numbers on her phone every night and was happy to see she again had a perfect match in the March 29 drawing.
She bought a $6 ticket for the March 29 drawing with nine lines of numbers, and it was the fourth line down on her ticket that matched the first five numbers drawn that night: 4, 16, 18, 22 and 31; the Bonus Ball was 21.
The Baltimore County resident said she landed her first Bonus Match 5 win sometime in the mid-2000s and won again in the past 12 to 15 years. All three wins were on quick-pick tickets.
“Bonus Match 5 has always been my favorite,” she said with a smile
The winning ticket was sold at Royal Farms, located at 10988 Red Run Blvd. in Owings Mills. For selling the winner, the Baltimore County retailer received a $500 bonus from the Lottery.
This was the seventh Bonus Match 5 top-prize winner of 2025. Bonus Match 5 players select five numbers from a range of 1 to 39. Drawings are held nightly, with five winning numbers selected from a range of 1 to 39, and one Bonus Ball number selected from the remaining 34 numbers. To win the $50,000 top prize, players must match the first five numbers that are drawn. Lower-tier prizes range from $2 to $600.
