A Prince George’s County woman is the latest $100,000 top prize winner on the Scratch & Match scratch-off game.
She enjoys playing Maryland Lottery scratch-offs daily at her local Weis Market, located at 15789 Livingston Road in Accokeek.
On the day she discovered her win, she arrived at the Weis to claim a $500 prize and paid for several other games with her winnings including a $10 Scratch & Match scratch-off.
The retired government worker’s routine is to scan her tickets immediately at the store. It seemed business as usual this particular day until the screen displayed a message she was not used to seeing.
Confused, she brought her ticket to customer service to have the clerk scan it again. That is when it was confirmed that she was a $100,000 winner.
“I was like ‘Wow! I can’t believe it!’” she said.
She immediately called her younger brother who shares a love of scratch-off games to tell him the news. He was equally shocked.
Her brother accompanied her to Lottery headquarters April 30 when she claimed her prize.
She plans to use her winnings to renovate her mother’s home.
Weis Market will receive $1,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.
Scratch & Match went on sale in March of 2026 with nine top prizes of $100,000. Seven top prizes remain unclaimed along with two $50,000 prizes also available. There are also thousands of lower-tier prizes remaining ranging from $10 to $10,000.
