Prince George’s Pick 5 Winner Getting Crab Legs for Mom, Lunch for Staff

The staff at a trucking company in Prince George’s County is in for a lunch treat, courtesy of a Pick 5 winner of $50,000 who runs the operation.

“I’m going to get my mother some crab legs and treat my staff to lunch,” the Upper Marlboro man said Aug. 6 after claiming his prize at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.

A casual Lottery player, he reports he likes to buy tickets when he feels a bit of inspiration.

“Every once in a while when I’m feeling lucky, I just go in and play,” he said, adding that over the years his “feeling lucky” strategy has paid off. In addition to his $50,000 win in the July 26 midday Pick 5 drawing, he reports having won a $20,000 prize a few years back.

He bought the winning ticket at University Market at 3201 St. Paul Street in Baltimore, which receives a bonus of $500, equal to 1% of the prize amount.
