Recreational Therapist From Fort Washington Wins $100,000 on Scratch-Off

A recreational therapist from Fort Washington received some monetary rehabilitation thanks to a big lottery win. Part of his rehab exercise included pinching himself to determine if what he was seeing what was real.

It was, indeed, real, and the Prince George’s County man claimed a $100,000 top prize Sept. 22 at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore thanks to a $100,000 Crossword scratch-off.

The winner visited Modern Liquors at 2358 Iverson Street in Temple Hills and bought two of the $10 tickets.

It was while at work that he made his discovery. When he scratched one of his tickets, he was able to match 10 words on puzzles two and three for a $100,000 top prize.

The Prince George’s County man has worked as a recreational therapist for 25 years. He plans to use his winnings to square his finances.

Modern Liquors will collect a $1,000 bonus as the retailer that sold a top tier-winning scratch-off. The bonus is 1% of the prize value.
