Lucky player claims $50,000 top prize on $5 game
A Gwynn Oak woman just won the biggest prize of her Lottery career. The 71-year-old plays games often, but a big win kept eluding the retired corrections officer. After winning a series of small prizes on Racetrax, Pick 3 and Pick 5, the lucky lady got her big break with a $50,000 top prize win on a Fat Wallet scratch-off.
The happy winner, who currently works as a security employee at a construction site, found her lucky instant ticket at 7-Eleven #33290 in Annapolis Junction. She occasionally visits this Howard County retailer after work to play her favorite Lottery games.
“I didn’t get too excited, but I really didn’t believe it,” she said after scanning her $5 instant ticket and learning about her big win. She immediately told her daughter and grandchildren the great news. The lucky player plans to save her prize and will also invest some of the funds.
Her Lottery retailer, 7-Eleven #33290 located at 10930 Guilford Road, has reason to celebrate, too. The business will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for its role in selling a $50,000 top-prize winning scratch-off.
