A retired Prince George’s County woman often finds herself in possession of a Maryland Lottery FAST PLAY ticket, and such was the case on Feb. 16 when she bought $20 worth.
The big difference on this occasion: before leaving the store, she got word she would be taking home a $100,000 top prize on the $10 Big Win game.
The fast win on FAST PLAY came at JB Liquors at 5842 Silver Hill Road in District Heights. After her purchase, she scanned the ticket on terminal and was initially quite confused by the “take to lottery” message on the screen.
She asked a clerk in the store for clarification. The clerk whispered to her that she had won $100,000.
The winner plans to use her prize money to do some home renovations, and will invest the rest. A retired D.C. Metro employee, she enjoys spending her time either at the casino, the bowling alley or at her church.
JB Liquors has reason to celebrate as the store receives a $1,000 bonus as the retailer that sold a winning FAST PLAY ticket worth $100,000.
