Retired Navy Veteran in Disbelief after $50,000 Top-Prize Win

Baltimore woman claims prize on Corvette® Cash instant ticket

It was an early afternoon and the midday Pick 3 drawing had just given a lucky Baltimore woman a small $40 prize. The retired U.S. Navy veteran then used part of the windfall to purchase four $5 Corvette® Cash instant tickets only to discover one was a $50,000 top-prize winner.

This all took place at Royal Farms #022 located at 200 Oak Manor Drive in Glen Burnie. After the 68-year-old bought her tickets from the store’s Lottery vending machine, she scanned the games’ prize check area for a win at the Lottery terminal. She didn’t know what to think when the scanner message read, “See Lottery.” Once she figured out that she had a hefty winner, that’s when the shock and disbelief set in.

The government employee is set to use her prize to pay bills, which include a car payment. Once the bills are paid, she plans to hit the seas as a civilian on a vacation cruise.

Royal Farms #022 will receive a $500 bonus from the Lottery for selling a top-prize winning scratch-off worth $50,000. The Corvette Cash scratch-off went on sale in April with eight $50,000 top prizes; three remain. Players can also shift into high gear by entering non-winning Corvette Cash scratch-offs into a second-chance promotion. Its top prize of $150,000 is more than enough to buy a Corvette! Upcoming second-chance promotion drawings to win either $10,000 or $150,000 are Aug. 21 and Oct. 9. Learn how here.
