Rosedale College Grad Celebrates With $50,000 Scratch-off Prize

A Rosedale woman who recently finished college is enjoying a nice graduation present after she won a $50,000 top prize on a Mosaic Money scratch-off ticket.

She and a few friends were celebrating at Dick’s Famous Halfway Inn when she purchased the ticket and handed it to one of her friends, who had never played scratch-offs.

According to our winner, the friend scratched and saw that there were five numbers in the Your Numbers section of the ticket that matched the Winning Numbers, and each one had a $5,000 prize underneath it for a total of $25,000. But the ticket also had a 2X symbol with a $5,000 prize, doubling it to $10,000; and a 3X symbol with another $5,000 amount, tripling it to $15,000. The two symbols delivered an additional $25,000 for a total of $50,000.

“My friend didn’t think it was real,” said the Baltimore County winner.

The group of friends took the ticket to scan and it and confirmed it was one of the Mosaic Money’s top prize winners of $50,000. The college grad said she will use the prize to pay off student loans as she begins working.

“I almost cried when I saw the amount,” she recalled.

Dick’s Famous Halfway Inn is located at 8013 Philadelphia Road in Rosedale. For selling the lucky ticket, the Baltimore County bar will receive a $500 bonus from the Maryland Lottery.

The $5 Mosaic Money ticket went on sale March 24 and this is the game’s second top-prize winner. The first $50,000 winner was sold in Reisterstown in April. Six more top prizes of $50,000 are still unclaimed as of June 9, along with thousands of other prizes ranging from $5 to $5,000.
