Rosedale Man Wins $50,000 Festive Fortune Scratch-off Top Prize

It was two days before Christmas when an occasional Lottery player decided to purchase a five $5 Festive Fortune scratch-offs. The Rosedale man took the tickets home to scratch and soon realized he was going to kick the new year off with some extra cash.

While claiming the $50,000 prize at Lottery headquarters on Dec. 29, the restaurant worker said the most he had ever won before was $100.

The Baltimore County resident plans to use his winnings to do some work around his house and will save the rest.

USA Discount Liquors at 8200 Pulaski Highway in Rosedale also wins. The store will receive a $500 bonus for selling the $50,000 winning ticket, equal to 1% of the prize total.

Festive Fortune was released in October and began with eight $50,000 top prizes. This win leaves five top-prizes unclaimed, along many lower-tier prizes between $5 and $1,000.

Festive Fortune is one of nine tickets that can be entered into the My Lottery Rewards Holiday Second-Chance Promotion. Players have a chance to win cash or a shopping spree. Six winners will be selected on Jan. 6 to win a trip for two to Chicago to participate in the Cash and Dash Shopping Spree. Each winner will get 90 seconds to run around a warehouse and place as much merchandise as they can into a shopping cart. The final drawing will take place on Jan. 13 when one winner will receive $50,000.
