Routine Change Leads to $156,581 FAST PLAY Win for Pennsylvania Woman

A Pennsylvania woman who regularly plays FAST PLAY games found herself celebrating a $156,581 progressive jackpot win after changing up her routine.

The Waynesboro area resident, who lives near the Maryland border, frequently purchases $5 FAST PLAY games such as World Championship Poker. On April 19, however, her decision to try a $5 FAST PLAY Cash Combination game led to a big win.

The retired private security worker said the purchase was out of the ordinary. While she typically scans her tickets in-store, this time she took the ticket home to check later.

“I like it because you can print and scan,” she said of FAST PLAY games.

A few hours after making the purchase, she used the Maryland Lottery app to scan the ticket, expecting to see a prize amount. Instead, she received a message instructing her to, “go to retailer.”

“I just grabbed it and ran,” she recalled.

After sharing the news with her husband, the couple visited several retailers before contacting Maryland Lottery headquarters, where they learned they were holding a progressive jackpot-winning ticket.

They claimed the prize the following day, April 20, at Lottery headquarters in Baltimore.

The winner and her husband plan to use the winnings for a vacation.

“We’re definitely taking a vacation,” her husband said. “Somewhere tropical.”

The ROC convenience store at 18404 Maugans Avenue in Hagerstown will receive a $1,000 bonus for selling the progressive jackpot-winning ticket.

The FAST PLAY Cash Combination progressive jackpot game has 12 progressive jackpot prizes remaining following this win. The progressive jackpot reset to $30,509 and will continue to grow with each non-jackpot ticket sold.
