Second Big Lottery Win Surprises Rosedale Man

Claims $26,748 Racetrax prize

He never thought he would ever be back at Lottery headquarters, a Baltimore County man told Lottery officials. Having won $100,000 with a scratch-off more than a decade ago, his return visit last week to collect more than $26,000 in Racetrax winnings came as quite a surprise.

“I just assumed that I’d enjoyed my share of Lottery luck – more than my share,” the Rosedale resident explained. “I still play because I enjoy it, and I still win sometimes.” While he’s enjoyed plenty of “regular-sized” wins since his big scratch-off score, the retired contractor had zero thought that it might happen again. “When my horses came in, I just could not believe it.”

The $4.80 Superfecta Box wager he placed at Harford Mart in Baltimore required the animated horses — 5, 7, 8 and 12 — to cross the finish line together in any order for him to win big. “I’ve been playing that combination for months now. Something about it just felt right.”

The loyal player even kept his cool as the race ended. “I didn’t break, though it was hard. It was just so exciting.” With an assist from the Bonus option he selected, which augmented his prize, our winner took home $26,748.60.

His lucky Lottery retailer, Harford Mart, is located at 7330 Harford Road. The Baltimore City business will receive a $267.48 bonus from the Lottery for selling a winning Racetrax ticket of $10,000 or more. The bonus is equal to 1% of the prize. The longtime player said he will use his winnings to pay bills.
