July 7 drawing brings 40th top-prize win of 2020
A Bonus Match 5 player may still be jumping with joy this morning after winning a $50,000 top prize in the Tuesday, July 7 drawing.
Fenton Street Exxon located at 8301 Fenton Street in Silver Spring sold the lucky ticket, which matches the five winning numbers of 3, 7, 11, 24 and 28; the Bonus Ball was 26.
Lottery officials recommend the winner sign the back of the ticket and keep it in a safe place until claiming the prize. Winners typically get 182 days from the date of the drawing to claim prizes. However, the Lottery has temporarily extended claiming deadlines due to Maryland’s COVID-19 state of emergency.
The winner can claim the prize by mail or in person by scheduling an appointment at the Lottery Customer Resource Center. Get details on how to claim by mail here or schedule an appointment here.
This is our 40th top-prize-winning Bonus Match 5 ticket of 2020.
The Montgomery County retailer also has reason to celebrate! The Lottery will give the store a bonus of $500 for selling a top-prize winning ticket in the game.
Bonus Match 5 drawings take place seven days a week. Players select five numbers ranging from 1 to 39. The Lottery draws five numbers from that range, and then a Bonus Ball is drawn from the remaining 34 numbers, providing extra chances to win. Your ticket is a winner if you match five, four or three of the five winning numbers. If you match the Bonus Ball number, you only need to match four, three or two of the five winning numbers to win.
