Sudden Change in Plans Gives Germantown Woman Big Racetrax Win

Lucky player wins $62,576 with Superfecta Box bet

A Germantown woman’s latest bout of Lottery luck started with an urge to play Powerball. When she reached her Lottery retailer, however, the loyal player had a sudden change in plans because something told her to play Racetrax instead of Powerball. She listened to her inner voice and, to her surprise, won a $62,576 Racetrax prize.

The 41-year-old made her fortunate stop at Germantown Liberty located at 13411 Kingsview Village Avenue in Germantown. She played 10 races for $24, placing a Superfecta Box wager on the horses numbered 9, 10, 11 and 12. Her four horses crossed the finish line in 12, 9, 10 and 11 order, delivering the big prize in the first race.

“I was stunned, but I kept quiet,” the lucky winner said, recalling that she looked at the Racetrax monitor and back at her ticket in amazement. The Montgomery County resident plans to use her prize strictly to boost her savings account.

Her Lottery retailer shares in her good fortune. Germantown Liberty will receive a $625.76 bonus for its role in selling a winning Racetrax ticket worth $62,576. The bonus is equal to 1% of the prize.
