Prince George’s County man finds lucky win with 8-spot quick-pick ticket
An anonymous Maryland Lottery player is starting the year on a high note after claiming a $150,060 Keno prize on a quick-pick ticket. The winner, who has been a loyal player for six years, stopped by Lottery headquarters to claim his prize and share his story.
The Prince George’s County resident said his preferred Lottery games are Keno and Racetrax. “I enjoy watching the horses with Racetrax,” he said. “You figure out what horse to bet on after a while. But Keno is my favorite because I’ve won the most money from it.”
In fact, just a few weeks ago, he won $1,500 playing Keno. This latest prize takes his good fortune to a new level.
A resident of a small town near Hyattsville, the loyal player purchased the winning ticket at the Sunoco station located at 4836 Kenilworth Avenue in Hyattsville. He opted for an 8-spot, quick-pick ticket for 20 drawings and added the Super Bonus option. In the fifth drawing, all of his numbers came in and the Super Bonus of 5 quintupled his prize. When he scanned his ticket soon after the purchase, the player was stunned to see the winning message and $150,060.
“I feel very lucky to win,” he said. As for plans for his windfall, the winner remains undecided. “I’m still in shock.”
The Sunoco retailer shares in the excitement, receiving a $1,500 Lottery bonus for selling a winning ticket of $10,000 or more. The bonus is equal to 1% of the prize.
