Carroll County and Montgomery County residents both bring home $45,000 prize
Eight lucky Maryland Lottery players recently traveled to Las Vegas to participate in the EVERLASTING MILLION CHALLENGE™. A total of 122 participants from Maryland and other lotteries across the country, were playing for the chance to win up to a lifetime prize of $1 million a year. Although no Maryland Lottery winner came home the big winner, Kerry Alexa from Colesville and Zachary “Zak” Brisko from Westminster each won $45,000.
Five of the 122 participants advanced to the second round of the EVERLASTING MILLION CHALLENGE™ Lottery event by revealing an EVERLASTING GOBSTOPPER™ message in their envelope during the first round, and two of those winners were from Maryland.
“We were so excited to be a part of this event,” Kerry, who was accompanied by her husband Marty, said. “Opening the EVERLASTING GOBSTOPPER™ message, moving on to the second round, and spinning the wheel made for a truly unforgettable experience.”
Kerry, a retiree, looks forward to sharing her winnings with local charities and family.
“This experience was so much fun,” Zak, a project manager for a painting company, told Maryland Lottery officials. “I can’t believe two of us made it to the second round!”
Zak, who brought his dad David on the trip, plans to save most of his winnings, but also intends to splurge a little on a vacation and golfing.
The trip took place Sept. 7-10, 2022. In addition to the cash prizes won at the event, each participant received round-trip airfare for two to Las Vegas, hotel accommodations for three nights, $1,000 spending money and the opportunity to play in the EVERLASTING MILLION CHALLENGE™.
Although they were eliminated after the first round of the EVERLASTING MILLION CHALLENGE™, the six other Maryland winners came home with some extra cash, too.
The following participants each won an additional $2,500:
- Debra Dupreez from Dundalk
- Jeffrey Rothstein from Reisterstown
The following participants each won an additional $1,000:
- Arthur Clark from Woodbine
- Sumita Jasani from Frederick
